Stacy C Bottoms replied:

Artist's Description

I designed this Native American horse mask after seeing a horse mask exhibit at the National Museum of the American Indian. The exhibit mentioned how Native Americans would attach a scalp below the mouth of the horse to intimidate enemies during battle. Today they are worn by horses during parades and celebrations.

About Stacy C Bottoms

Stacy C Bottoms

I'm a painter using oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and more. Watch me paint on YouTube at @artiststacycbottoms. I started painting at a young age after visiting an art museum for painting lessons. That's when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching. Years later I completed my M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. The Hickory Museum of Art has exhibited my paintings and I exhibit my art online. I've also created art for a published children's book. I enjoy teaching art and I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2015. In 2016 I was named the Fine...
