Artist's Description
I painted this young reenactor after seeing him at a Civil War reenactment. History tells us that young siblings and relatives often fought against each other during the American Civil War. I also painted "Too Young II" as if he was a relative. I wanted to pose them facing each other as if they were meeting on the field after the war ended. Both originals are available at the present time.
About Stacy C Bottoms
I'm a painter using oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and more. Watch me paint on YouTube at @artiststacycbottoms. I started painting at a young age after visiting an art museum for painting lessons. That's when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching. Years later I completed my M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. The Hickory Museum of Art has exhibited my paintings and I exhibit my art online. I've also created art for a published children's book. I enjoy teaching art and I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2015. In 2016 I was named the Fine...

Excellent work. Excellent commentary, frank honesty, authenticity to this; not labored or overworked, good composition; clear statement -- nice emphasis (of the soldier) then de-emphasis of everything else with tents, etc., just suggested.
