I hiked to the top of Mount Pisgah with my father-in-law and my son. The elevation at the top is 5,722 feet. It was a long hike up but the view was worth it. This mountain can be seen for many miles around western North Carolina. It is accessible along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The nearby town of Brevard is a popular tourist and retirement destination.

My grandparent's farm provided the inspiration for my landscapes and transportation art. After high school I joined the Marines for tuition, and I became a rifle range instructor. That's when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching. Years later I completed my M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
