Artist's Description
I painted this old truck after seeing it resting out in a field. It was near Rimer Auto Salvage in North Carolina. I used watercolors to get the type of effect that I wanted for the rust. The truck was missing a wheel but I think that actually adds character to it. Have to wonder about all the places it traveled and the work that this old truck has done over the years. I think it is a 1955. The original painting is for sale and prints are also affordable.
About Stacy C Bottoms
I'm a painter using oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and more. Watch me paint on YouTube at @artiststacycbottoms. I started painting at a young age after visiting an art museum for painting lessons. My grandparent's farm provided the inspiration for my landscapes and transportation art. After high school I joined the Marines for tuition, and I became a rifle range instructor. That's when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching. Years later I completed my M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. The Hickory Museum of Art has exhibited my paintings and I exhibit my art online. I've also created art for a published children's book. I enjoy teaching art and I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2015. In 2016 I was named the Fine...
