Description
Wind-blown snow and single digit temperatures make for a dramatic morning in New Hampshire's Tuckerman Ravine. On this particular morning, Mount Washington was doing it's best to live up to its reputation as "Home of the Worlds Worst Weather." With sunrise having come and gone without so much as a glimmer of sunlight, my hiking partner and I were preparing to head back down the mountain when miraculously the sun appeared through the clouds. Frozen fingers and toes were immediately forgotten in our efforts to capture the dramatic light. For we knew from experience that the weather in these mountains, on THIS mountain, can change for the worse in a matter of minutes.
